Her previous employers include CBS Sports and Fox Sports. Kolber was born in Pennsylvania earned a doctoral degree from University of Miami. She began her career as a video producer at CBS Sports in New York City. She received a Sports Emmy while working at WTVJ-TV, Miami. Also, she worked at WPLG-TV in Miami and WPEC-TV which is located in West Palm Beach, Florida. The station was selected as anchor for ESPN2 in 1993 when the channel launched for the first time. It was at ESPN2 for the following three years before leaving it to join Fox Sports. In 1999, she returned to ESPN where she is host of the show 'Monday night Countdown'.
